The Monona Historical Society invites you to visit the Monona Historical Museum and Willa Helwig History Center. We are dedicated to preserving and sharing local Monona, Iowa, area history.

The museum consists of a turn of the century home with many period furnishings, wood carvings by Gustav Pufahl and Elmer Marting, Sr., a room dedicated to local area wood carvers who meet here weekly, and a history center with hundreds of resources for you to research local area people, places, and events.

Visit our Exhibits page to learn more about the many exhibits available at the museum. We also have an amazing display of hand carved wood chains and wood carvings.
